Lea Sloan’s recent watercolors interpret the natural world. Lea strives to communicate the intuitive and primal connection we all share with the fundamentals of landcape, while allowing the idiosyncratic beauty of watercolor to express and inhabit the elements of the painting.

Lea has been drawing and painting since early childhood. Her first one-person show was held at Concord Academy in Concord, Massachusetts when she was a student there. She has studied with acclaimed artists, and exhibited and sold work at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia, the Academy Art Museum in Easton and the Dorchester Art Center in Cambridge, Maryland.

When she’s not painting, Ms. Sloan is vice president of communications at American Forests, the oldest national conservation organization in the country – working to protect and restore forests.

She and her husband live in Washington, D.C. and Tilghman Island, MD.
